the adoption process
step 1: application
The Santa Fe Cat Cafe works exclusively with Felines & Friends, and does not have control over the adoption process. If you are interested in adopting one of the cats in our Cafe, you will need to apply directly with Felines & Friends.
step 2: confirmation
As a second-chance rescue, the F&F Adoption Team is all volunteers. Please be patient!
In most cases, confirmation of receipt will occur within 24 hours. Applications are reviewed quickly as possible, with a turnaround time of 1-3 days.
step 3: Application Review
F&F will reach out to your references and vet to confirm your information. Make sure to notify them to expect a call!
step 6: forever home
Sign an adoption (or foster to adopt) agreement, pay the adoption fees, and head home with your new roommate(s)! You can always contact the adoption advisor with questions or concerns.
step 4: decision
If approved, an adoption advisor will reach out to help you find the perfect kitty (or two!) for your household.
step 5: meet & greet
Your advisor will work with you to visit potential matches for your household. Kitties at the Cafe can be visited during open hours or by appointment. These visits help you see how well you and the cat connect, observe behavior, and ask questions of your adoption advisor.
